What’s Inside an iPhone 4S?

Deemed as the most amazing iPhone yet, everyone would be interested to know what makes it the best among all. Could it be the processor? The operating system? The camera? Here, you will discover most of the hardware that makes up the iPhone 4S.

The camera that is being embedded into the iPhone 4s is a Sony-made camera with image sensor and touch controller. In overall, the camera in iPhone 4S has 60% more pixels than its predecessor, the iPhone 4. The greater capability of the chips and the increase in pixels will result in brighter and sharper picture in low-light conditions.

A shocking find from the iPhone 4S is that it is equipped with only 512MB RAM, while most of the smartphones in the market today usually has double the amount. Many would think that iPhone 4S is not comparable to the current lines of smartphones, but the less usage of RAM may also justify that the iPhone OS uses much lower memory compared to Android and Windows Mobile OS.

The battery for iPhone 4S in the other hand is not something that can be bragged about. Apple only managed to boost around 5% from the previous version’s capabilities and given the long research time on making the iPhone 4S, the improvement on the battery can be said as a failure. Even though talk time in 3G is improved, it sacrifices the standby time on the iPhone 4S.

The processor on the iPhone 4S is the same in the iPad 2, so those who already have the iPad 2 will realise the response time of the device is more or less the same. However, the Apple A5 processor in the iPhone 4s uses much lower voltage compared to the iPad 2 because of the size of the battery being used in the 4S.

Aside from the processor, there are also other chips and hardwares in the iPhone 4S that are the same with the iPad 2. Some of them that has been identified is the accelerometer, gyroscope and also the storage flash chip. Therefore, one can say that iPhone 4S is actually a smaller version of the iPad 2, except with the ability to make calls and such. Is iPhone 4S worth it? Is it really the revolutionary phone that is the benchmark for all other smartphones in the world? You be the judge.
