Alarm.com never suggests the use of a single home automation or safety system instead uses the combined effect of various systems such as motions sensors and cameras for safeguarding the properties. Basically the system uses door sensors, motion sensors, surveillance cameras, fire detectors and smoke detectors to keep in touch with your properties while you are away. All the systems are either user monitored via internet or through a Smartphone, or else the distant monitoring station takes care of the same.
The systems used by Alarm.com can be linked to the station and the video shoots can be stored online for a maximum of 60 days. The monitoring station will have pre collected user information and when an emergency situation is detected, the alarm will be first triggered. There will be short time gap before the message reaches the station for the owner to disarm the alarm in case of some mistake or if the user is nearby the house. If the user is not present and on receiving the message, the monitoring station communicates with the user via intercom or hand phone. On ‘no response’ situation with the user, emergency services will be sent by the monitoring station as per intimations.
